No The End

FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know about keeping story time distraction-free.

  1. How does No The End help with bedtime routines?

Digital screens can easily disrupt sleep hygiene. Standard apps are filled with bright toolbars, page animations, and notifications that act as stimulants. No The End removes all UI elements so the screen only displays your storybook, helping to mitigate the 'second wind' and keeping the focus on a calm wind-down routine.

  2. How do you stop toddlers from accidentally swiping the screen?

We use smart touch-resistance designed for developing motor skills. The app ignores clumsy, multi-finger taps and accidental swipes that often cause meltdowns when a book suddenly closes. Children can point to things on the page without disrupting the co-reading experience. It requires a specific, hidden corner-press gesture to turn pages. For total lockdown, the app integrates with Android Screen Pinning (and soon, Apple Guided Access) to prevent exiting the app entirely.

  3. Does it work offline for travel or road trips?

Yes, No The End is 100% fully offline. Once installed, it requires zero network calls or Wi-Fi to function. This makes it a perfect, reliable tool for airplane mode reading, off-grid road trips, or simply keeping your tablet disconnected from the internet during family time.

  4. What data does the app collect about my child?

Absolutely none. We take digital safety and privacy seriously. No The End has zero user accounts, zero telemetry, zero analytics, and zero tracking scripts. Your digital library stays on your local device, making it a completely safe, COPPA-compliant screen time environment.

  5. Where can I get books to read in the app?

No The End is a 'Bring Your Own Book' (BYOB) reader—it is not a storefront. It works beautifully with any standard PDF file. Parents commonly use it to read DRM-free storybooks, homeschool PDF curriculums, public domain books from Project Gutenberg, or PDFs exported from library apps like Libby.
